Hosting the King
An Ancient Strategy for the Kingdom of God in any generation
by Ina Steyn
The King stands for righteousness. The Priest represents purity. The sphere of any king is authority, whereas the sphere of the priest is worship. The only safe ground for these offices to be united is in Christ. And He unlocked for His followers the calling of Royal Priesthood, to minister before the Throne of God as priests, and to impact the nations with authority in intercession and ministry.
This icon depicts an antique Byzantine masterpiece. The Almighty is enthroned as King. And yet, this icon is called Christ, the High Priest. On the four corners of His throne are symbolically represented the Four Evangelists: Matthew as a lion, Mark as an ox, Luke as an young man, and John as an eagle, as also portrayed in the prophetic book of Revelation.
As much as we live on earth according to our calling as priests, shall we see His Kingdom manifest in our generation.Â
These are the divine principles revealed through the pages of the Old Testament, and clearly proclaimed and lived in the Apostolic Age.
Ina Steyn grew up in Namibia on a sheep farm, and experienced a calling to serve the Lord in the nations at a young age. She was privileged to be exposed to multiple expressions of modern-day Missions in many nations. She started in administrative work in Southern Africa, and partook in Church-planting in Siberia in the early 90’s. The disappointment of unanswered prayer lead her to Scotland, where she served in Intercession ministries, and started an Internship to equip young missionaries. During this season that she also served in Western Europe alongside leadership teams of fourteen nations. She was privileged to travel extensively to most European nations over two decades, meeting with teams and individuals in leadership, and in personal capacities. She has been living in England since 2008.
