Winging It Blind
Or Changing What You Think Is Possible
by Simon Mahoney
Fear of the unknown is primordial. It is always with us in some form. When you lose your sight it becomes very real and immediate. You can feel it, you can taste it, you can smell it and you can hear it.
As we are considered to be ‘procedures’ rather than people, we are told nothing by the eye clinics. We are condemned to hurtle into the unknown. The best way to beat the fear of the unknown is knowledge. This will take away much of the terror and, more to the point, allow you to challenge what is possible.
Winging it Blind provides both the knowledge and the ways of regaining your life after sight loss. The author, who is totally blind, shares what he has learned through some very difficult years. Whether you have to courage to reach out and use this knowledge Is, of course, another matter.
