Once described in The Times in London as the ‘Delia Smith of Korean Cooking’, Seoul born Yongja Kim moved to America in her early 20’s. Yongja’s career since that time has included her own tv shows in New York and as a guest on Korean radio.
A cooking instructor since 1993, Yongja also contributed as a columnist to the New York edition of the prestigious Korea Times for over 25 years. She is the author of a previously acclaimed book of cookery and frequently demonstrated the art of Korean cuisine to diplomatic groups visiting America.
Having co-judged an important global event dedicated to Korean cuisine, Yongja later contributed to the book ‘Rags to Riches’, dedicated to the incredible economic rise of South Korea from its time of poverty and war. She was one of 60 international personalities featured in the official publication of the G20 conference of world leaders in Seoul.
Yongja now lives in London, England with her husband, retired music magazine editor and publisher Alan Smith.
